Hi I'm Tami Weaver-Henry
A devoted wife of 33 years and mom, a Pastor, CEO, Chaplain, and lifelong advocate for justice and equity. I’m the Founder and CEO of Angels Care, New Jersey’s first Christian-based home health care agency, and Pastor. I proudly serve as a Chaplain for the West district Jersey City Police Department and I’m in my second term as Chair of the Jersey City Women’s Advisory Board. I’m also a Board Member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, a Democratic Committee Person, author, and farmer. I’m running for City Council At-Large to ensure Jersey City grows with justice, dignity, and purpose for all.
My Story
I’ve spent over 30 years volunteering and serving my community from hospital rooms to City Hall. As a lifelong healthcare professional and advocate, I founded Angels Care, New Jersey’s first Christian-based home care agency, because I believe compassionate care is a right, not a privilege. I began my journey in the field as a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) and I worked my way up to become founder & CEO of Angels Care. Today, I continue that mission as a Pastor, walking alongside families in faith and service.
I am proudly serving my second term as Chair of the Jersey City Women’s Advisory Board, standing with our officers as a chaplain for the Jersey City Police Department, and advocating for residents as a Democratic Committee member.
I was deeply honored to receive the Excellence in Policing Award from the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, but for me, the true reward is building bridges between people, & empowering women, and ensuring every neighborhood in Jersey City is safe, seen, and supported.
I’m no stranger to hard work. In 2002, the Honorable Mayor Glenn Cunningham recognized me as a recipient of the Jersey City Employment and Training Program (JCEPT) for using its resources to uplift my community.
Twenty years later, I was sworn in as a board member of that very same organization, turning full-circle from recipient to leader. It’s a reminder that with dedication and service, you don’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
